June 5, 2011: The Somali Minister of Sport and Youth has launched an investigation into alleged corruption against the Somali NOC . The investigation, The Ministry said in his report, came after many complaints were received from the Somali National Federations.

The corruption investigations come as hundreds thousands of funds from the Olympic Solidarity for the development of the Somali athletics were misused by the Somali NOC. The Ministry of Sport & Youth has requested the International Olympic Committee, Olympic Solidarity and all other sponsors to suspend all the funds to the Somali NOC until the investigation is completed.
